Position Title: Technical Supervisor, Metals Operation
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Winchester, VA
Under the direct supervision of Plant Manager, the Technical Supervisor will supervise and direct the daily operations of a 24/5 metals manufacturing operation.
Plan and control the daily operations of the metals Department and its staff including the efficient scheduling of workforce and the accurate and timely manufacturing of product. In a complete manual scheduling environment.
Plan manpower assignments and schedules in support of workload. Insuring the most efficient and cost effective use of resources human and material.
Confirms that all the required documentation and computer entries are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
Familiar with, steel processing, grades and properties.
Ensures product quality. Must be able to recognize defects or errors in the cutting and or welding process.
Provides employees in manufacturing with continuous instruction on proper techniques and procedures. Performs follow-up checks during the shift and provides management with feedback regarding the performance of individual employees.
Provide for safety and security of employees and Company property by ensuring a safe work environment that exceeds OSHA requirements and assuring that all operations follow all corporate policies and government regulations.
Partners and collaborates with other leaders to maintain a balanced workflow and to efficiently utilize available resources.
Handle all day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for personnel related to training, work performance evaluation and disciplinary actions per company policy
Insure that all manufacturing activities follow or exceed all applicable quality procedures and standards in conjunction with lean principles.
Performs other like or similar tasks as assigned.

Identify, document and implement procedures to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency (e.g. on-time and complete shipments).
Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the plant
BS in Engineering and or Manufacturing Technology
5+ year(s) experience working in a Manufacturing setting
5+ years of manufacturing leadership (supervisory) experience
Lean Manufacturing knowledge & experience (i.e.: 5s, Standard Work, Cellular layouts, etc.)
Preferred experience in metal based manufacturing industries
Experience in the supervision of manufacturing and material management.
Experience with PKMS or SAP management software systems.
Physical ability to lift, move and/or carry minimum of 40 lbs. infrequently
