TITLE: Allocation Analyst

LOCATION: Wichita, KS

REPORTS TO: Director, Customer Care

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Allocation Analyst is responsible for allocation of all short-supply inventory between global customer orders to achieve timely and complete customer deliveries. The Allocation Analyst manages and maintains the records for product succession to eliminate sales order disruption. The Allocation Analyst is responsible for the creation and distribution of reporting to senior management on demand status and service level performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage product allocation of global customer sales demand to achieve optimum customer satisfaction by determining proper allocation quantities by customer, by SKU using forecast data which includes the need to have a working knowledge of customer compliance policies, customer fill-rates and penalties.

  • Identify potential inventory shortages by analyzing available information. When shortages are identified, determine the appropriate inventory allocation that will ensure the highest customer fill-rated and on-time shipment while striving to reduce or avoid any potential penalties. Allocation responsibilities include review of domestic and international orders.

  • Analyze forecast vs. demand and other internal reports to identify the point at which product demand will exceed supply. Coordinate with the appropriate departments to determine what action should be taken when supply is insufficient.

  • Communicate, in a proactive manner, product backorder status with Customer Services, S&OP, and Sales to determine the most beneficial distribution of available product to customers.

  • Remain current on rolling production changes, discontinues items and model changes. Systematically maintain product substitution records with data to eliminate order delays and manual order adjustment.

  • Direct Customer and Consumer Services to change orders containing discontinued or rolling change products by analyzing current backorders and providing detailed reports of open orders with update directives.

  • Assist Distribution as needed with the management of maintaining adequate inventory levels at each of the Company’s physical warehouses.

  • Determine the need to systematically maintain records of inventory placed on hold to reserve for future consumption. Audit product reserves to determine the appropriate time to release the hold if demand does not consume the stock within a reasonable period of time.

  • Determine the need and systematically maintain records of product inclusions and exclusions to restrict product consumption/shipments by certain customers, to certain states or from certain warehouses.

  • Identify the demand for materials between warehouses and execute the systematic transfer of such materials to physically move products between distribution centers while ensuring cost effective movements.

  • In addition to allocation reporting, creates, reviews and distributes daily reports, including but not limited to order cancellations, inbound container hot lists to support demand, overview of total order status, overview of total shipping status, CSR order changes required, and global service level metrics.

  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Associate’s Degree in Business or related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Customer Service, Inventory Management, logistics or equivalent combination.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task with a high-volume workload and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong MS Office skills including advanced proficiency with Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

  • Experience with SAP
