Position title: E-Commerce Manager

Location: Shanghai, China

Reports to: Sr. E-Commerce Manager

Job Summary:

The Manager, E-Commerce role requires the ability to influence, strengthen and manage the relationship with internal business partners and external E-Commerce platforms and E-retailers (like Tmall, JD and Amazon, etc.). This role will be focused on identifying ways to drive consumer consumption of the Newell Rubbermaid portfolio of brands. The ideal candidate will have strong partnering skills with demonstrated follow-through on the execution of programs to drive high share of voice. Experience should include a strong knowledge of E-Commerce and experience driving online sales.


  • Develop Brand E-Commerce business growth strategy.

  • Manage E-Commerce accounts to achieve the business goals and to increase share eventually.

  • Work on Joint Business Plan for top E-Commerce accounts with related functions support.

  • Manage and strengthen relationship with E-Commerce platforms and E-Retailers, negotiating placement, brands’ share of voice and strategic partnerships.

  • Oversee brand E-Commerce efforts to ensure the success of new launches, promotions, and maximizing opportunities to drive incremental sales.

  • Take the lead on understanding product line specific key business objectives and develop growth strategy through qualitative analysis and quantitative data.

  • Partner with brands’ marketing and trade marketing team to ensure cohesive programs considering all sides of the business.

  • Manage the content required to support the product assortment. Obtain or develop approved brand and lifestyle imagery and descriptive copy as required.

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for E-Commerce by introducing industry best practices, standards and innovation. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities by brand and E-Commerce account.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 5 years of direct and hands-on E-Commerce experience while managing others

  • Knowledge of E-Commerce product flow and web store performance optimization

  • Strong quantitative ability and comfort with data driven decision processes

  • Experience with budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures

  • Experience with managing and optimizing online marketing tactics with an emphasis on efficient spending to generate high ROI

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across lines of business

  • Strong English written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills
