Position title: Supply Chain Operations Manager, Appliances & Cookware
Location: Santiago, Chile
Reports to : General Manager
Reporting directly to the General Manager and dotted line to the Region, the Supply Chain Operations Manager will interact with members of the Sales, Marketing, Finance and Customers Service areas to perform the assigned functional duties. He/ She will prepare the projected demand plan in consultation with the marketing and sales teams and subsequently prepare a supply plan to support the projected sales requirements.
The Supply Chain Operations Manager is required to utilize available planning/analytic tools and intelligence systems to synchronize the supply, demand and inventory planning functions. The inventory management is a critical role that involves dynamic oversight and execution to ensure that supply requirements are demand requirements are consistently coordinated in response to changing market circumstances. The Manager is also responsible for diligently supervising performance of the purchasing function. This responsibility involves monitoring communications and interaction with company-owned production sites and 3 rd party suppliers. These duties span supervising the placement of purchase orders, tracking open purchase orders, monitoring scheduling and overseeing the shipment/logistics of deliveries.
Moreover, the Supply Chain Operations Manager is responsible for directing and supervising the administration and processing of all required import permits. This position is responsible for managing the relationship with the designated 3 rd party logistics provider to ensure that goods are stored in accordance with company standards, orders are dispatched in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to defined customers requirements. The Manager is also responsible for negotiating cost competitive fees with providers of warehousing and distribution services.
DEMAND & SUPPLY PLANNING
Drive the Consensus forecasting meetings / Sales and Operations Planning process to discuss supply constraints and capabilities versus demand requirements.
Prepare, in consultation with the sales and marketing personnel, the projected demand plan and develop a purchase plan that is fully aligned with the established sales and financial forecasts.
Participate in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by preparing SKU level forecasts
Supervise the processing of purchase orders to both company owned production sites and 3 rd party suppliers
Submitting rolling 12-month monthly production forecasts to the Latin America Regional headquarters Supply Chain group.
Perform the necessary analysis and issue periodic reports which identify slow moving merchandise in an effort to ensure full stock rotation and minimize the risk of accruing excess & obsolete inventories.
Actively manage the total inventory balance (orders placed + on-hand + in-transit) to ensure End-of-Year volume and customer service level targets will be achieved.
Coordinating and supervising the performance of routine inventory cycle counts and coordinate the annual physical inventory count.
Monitor the status of all inbound shipments to ensure timely delivery of the purchased merchandise to the warehouse facility.
DISTRIBUTION and WAREHOUSING
Implement Service Level Agreements with 3 rd party logistics providers establishing formalized guidelines/performance standards. Manage D&W expenses aiming for cost reduction projects.
Manage Service to the Company and to the Customers using Key performance Indicators for the provider of the D&W services. Supervise supplier compliance in discharging such services
Ensure orders invoicing and product shipping processes have effective controls and adhere to Company’s policies and procedures.
Reviewing and negotiating preferential freight rates with ground carriers for distribution services.
Supervising the warehousing facilities to ensure that all merchandise is being suitably stored and that the necessary safekeeping and controlling measures are being duly provided.
Ensure the implementation of Good Storage Practices based on total quality concepts.
- Make sure Company complies with and efficiently manage the import permitting process. Ensure company complies with all local and government regulatory agencies.
AFTER SALES SERVICES
Implement effective Customer Service processes. Make sure key controls and clear procedures are in place and support the interface among the involved functions (Sales, Finance and Operations) to accept merchandize returns following commercial or warranty established policies.
Execute a standard procedure to inspect, disassemble, reconditioning, recuperate and/or scrap parts and pieces. Ensure effective controls are in place.
Highly organized and energetic with a keen ability to manage details. Must be flexible with the aptitude to prioritize work and support multiple members of the department. Must be a team player with a positive attitude who is able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate with total fluency in both Spanish and English (orally and in writing). Must possess a strong work ethic and hands-on approach to problem solving.
B. Minimum Education/Experience Required
Must have strong computer skills including experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Proficiency with SAP desirable.
University degree required plus 7 years of relevant operational work experience, particularly related to demand, inventory and 3PL management.
