Newell Brands Warehouse Supervisor in Rome, Georgia
Position Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Rome, GA
Directs and coordinates daily warehouse activity including, but not limited to customer shipments, receiving, quality control, inventory control, cycle counting, expense control and safety. Prepares and plans strategies to meet and exceed customer service requirements, maximizing productivity and implementing team goals while ensuring a safe working environment.
Responsible for directing and leading warehouse associates in meeting daily, weekly and monthly goals.
Responsible for housekeeping and insuring overall facility cleanliness.
Maintains and improves upon training programs and provides training in such areas as safety, quality and new hire development.
Insures proper routing of shipments as well as dock assignments for inbound and outbound loads.
Coordinates communications between office personal and the warehouse to insure critical information is shared as well as fosters communications and teamwork among staff to ensure accomplishment of operation goals.
Insure high quality standards are maintained by working with QA and other departments to develop preventive and corrective actions.
Read, understand and analyze operational reports in order to evaluate departmental performance and develop action plans for improvement.
Effectively and professionally communicate with all other facilities and vendors in order to resolve issues and implement positive change.
Conduct performance evaluations and assist Warehouse Manager with hiring and dismissals.
Insures all company policies, regulations and procedures are followed.
Foster a positive, team culture while maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
Develop individual associate’s skills, standards and morale through training and coaching. Provide positive feedback whenever possible and disciplinary action if necessary.
Back-up all office or warehouse personal as needed.
Ensure all warehouse activity is performed with the highest regard for safety. Enforce all safety standards as well as develop strategies to improve safety.
Conduct Kaizen events in order to develop and implement Lean Manufacturing principles. Utilize Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory, 5S and Kaizen to drive productivity, safety and quality.
High School Diploma or equivalent
3-5 yrs of supervisory experience
3-5 yrs of warehouse/distribution experience
Knowledge of OSHA standards/regulations
Ability to use Microsoft Office
