TITLE: Manager, Retail and International Sales Operations

LOCATION: Rohnert Park, CA

REPORTS TO: Director Retail and International Sales


The Manager, Retail & International Sales Operations manages the ongoing customer service support to all international Newell Brands Technical Apparel (NBTA) distributors and international subsidiaries: Marmot Mountain Canada (MMC) and Marmot Mountain Europe (MME). US Retail responsibilities include; providing operational support for Technical Apparel retail stores (US) within the Outdoor & Recreation division of Newell Brands (Marmot, and ExOfficio retail concepts). and developing business strategies and maintain the existing best practices for retail. International Sales responsibilities include: supporting all international sales operations, monitoring of order deadlines, export management for USA and Direct shipments, report creation and analytics, pricing spreadsheet creation and maintenance, special requirements from International affiliates, preparation and organization for Sales Meetings and Trade Shows. The Manager, Retail and International Sales Operations researches and resolves problems with availability and shipment of goods and facilitates export processes for both USA and Direct shipments. Additionally, ensures that all timelines, communication deadlines and service level expectations are met as set and outlined per NBTA business requirements.


International Sales Operations Responsibilities:

  • Order Management oversight.

  • Export Management.

  • Key Account Management.

  • Sales Meetings and Trade Shows.

  • Reporting, Documentation and Accounting.

Retail Operations Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibilities for sales and metric reporting and analysis.

  • Plans and executes physical Inventory.

  • Assists Finance and accounting teams with record keeping, invoices, and compliance.

  • Coordinates with retail vendors for orders, payments, and service needs.

  • Facilitates Store Operations Audits Quarterly.

  • Coordinates new store opening, remodel, and store closure projects.

  • Has weekly conference calls and Ops touch base calls with stores.

  • Creates Ops program as directed (Shipment best practices, Ops training binder, etc.)

  • Coordinates travel and logistics for retail meetings and training.

Expected Travel: Up to 25% of the time, some travel may be international


  • A university or four-year college degree in Business/Marketing or related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Customer Service and Import/Export with responsibility for data entry, order tracking, problem solving, customer interface and meeting requirements of import/export rules and documentation requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required; intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including SUMIFs, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

  • Strong presentation/speaking skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate and build good working relationships in multicultural environments where English may be limited.

  • Demonstrated collaboration, interpersonal influence, and teamwork skills (maintains effective communication and working relationships).

  • Ability to manage and lead change.

  • Highly driven, self-motivated and capable of working without significant supervision.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, experience with SAP and Business Intelligence software

  • Practical knowledge of other functions such as sourcing, production, sales, marketing and merchandising.

  • Outdoor Industry or CPG experience in wholesale and/or retail sales.

  • A passion for Travel and Adventure.
