Summary:

The Associate Category Manager, Outerwear is a member of the Product Development team at Newell Brands Technical Apparel (NBTA), a division of Newell Brands (NYSE: NWL), and a globally-recognized designer, developer, marketer and retailer of high-performance technical apparel and equipment with a portfolio of brands that includes Marmot® and ExOfficio®.

This position supports the Senior Category Manager with organizing seasonal launches, category strategies, product mix, financial roll ups and all data pertaining to style management, while working in accordance with the company time line to meet all deliverables in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the seasonal line plan for allOuterwear with accuracy, documenting styles, historical sales data,materials, and margin objectives

  • Build and maintain data tracking toolsthroughout the product development process, including PLM programs, salescommunication tools, and marketing assets

  • Manage visual line architecture

  • Create presentation decks for internal andexternal product meetings, to include financial objectives, consumerinsights, and competitive research analysis

  • Responsible for all product information thatgoes into workbook and onto web site

  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth,based on market research and competitor intelligence

  • Coordinate CADs and assist in merchandisingassortments for pre-season meetings and strategic accounts

  • Help analyze cost sheets and calculateachievable margins and SKU productivity, while attending big-picturecategory costing meetings

  • Partner with Planning and Sourcing teams togenerate seasonal style level forecasts

  • Act as a liaison between multiple teams andcross-functional departments to align all facets of a project

  • Manage the team calendar, ensure thatmilestones are met, track progress, and troubleshoot roadblocks

  • Assist team in commercialization of market leadingproducts

Qualifications:

  • Universityor four-year college degree in apparel, operations, business or relatedfield

  • Aminimum of 3-7 years of experience, preferably in outdoor apparel orsimilar industry

  • Contributionsin assisting management of a category

  • Must bedetail oriented but able to present the big picture

  • Resultsoriented while exhibiting great creativity, energy, and resourcefulness

  • Strongproject planning, organizational and time management skills, with a highlevel of initiative

  • Able tomanage to deadlines, be flexible with change, drive to timely resolution

  • Influentialin building positive partnerships with cross functional teams

  • Excellentcommunication and problem solving skills

  • Understandsmaterials, fit, function, and apparel end use requirements

  • Must beable to handle multiple priorities in effiecient manner
