Job Title: Process Engineer - Baby

Location: Reedsburg, WI

Reports To: Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary responsibility for creating and documenting molding processes for plastic and silicone products. Recommends materials for production applications and provides recipe and bill of materials for qualified molding products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review material selections with Tooling Engineer and R&D to improve production capability, quality and cost effectiveness.

  • Performs root cause and preventive action analysis to eliminate causes for nonconforming products.

  • Support new business development and introductions.

  • Effectively communicate process sampling timeline with Production, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Departments.

  • Provide technical guidance and training for Mold Experts and Molding Technicians on processing.

  • Responsible for sampling of new products, equipment, materials and colors so that products meet qualification requirements.

  • Perform Design of Experiments (D.O.E.) on new products to optimize process and part quality and establishes high and low limits for critical processing parameters.

  • Document process settings (including auxiliary equipment) according to document control procedures.

  • Manages exploration of new materials and processes for continuous improvement in order to achieve the best quality, process, and reliability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.

WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a minimum of 5 years experience in a technical position.

  • Experience with silicone and plastic injection and blow molding tooling. Strong project management, problem resolution, decision making and influencing skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to generate innovative solutions to situations.

  • Skilled in RJG principles.

  • Skilled in communicating effectively (verbal, written, listening) with a variety of individuals.

  • Skilled in technical writing (policies, procedures, etc.)

  • Skilled in reading, interpreting, applying and explaining regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Skilled in prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple projects.

  • Skilled in use of personal computer and related software applications including SAP and Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel and Project).

  • Knowledge of plastic two-shot, silicone injection and blow molding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Ability to stand/walk up to 75% of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to frequently bend and twist and have unrestricted use of upper extremities

  • Push/Pull up to 100 pounds of force
