Position Title: Financial Analyst

Reports to: Director of Corporate Customs & Trade

Location: Norwalk, CT

Job Summary:

Position reports to Director of Trade & Customs and will be based in Norwalk, CT. Corporate Trade & Custom’s mission is to provide structure and guidance to the Newell Brands Divisions and their Trade Departments. The Corporate Trade Department provides guidance and lead trade strategies across our businesses, ensuring the cost effective, compliant and seamless movement of cross border operations.The Trade Analyst will support Corporate Trade and the divisional trade departments. This position requires excellent analytical skills, accounting knowledge and creativity to provide the analytics needed to administer the trade program and provide management reporting. The Trade Analyst will also be responsible for managing the corporate valuation program.

Job Duties:

  • The Trade Analyst, will work with the divisions to create a standardized approach to managing additions to the customs value and ensure this approach is adhered to across the company.

  • The Trade Analyst working with divisions will provide support to the divisions to ensure all additions to the customs value are identified and reported to Customs on an annual basis.

  • These additions included, but are not limited to:Dutiable royalties, Machinery, tooling and molds, Research and Development,Freight & Insurance (outside US)

  • Create management reporting, including but not limited to duty spend reports, user tax, origin, classification, etc.

  • Track legislative actions (i.e. free-trade agreements, tax code changes, etc.) and develop reports to advise senior management and the divisions of the impact.

  • Create and administer global customs profile report detailing our global trade landscape.

  • Support the creation of reports required in an audit situation.

  • Perform analytics to identify potential cost savings initiatives.

  • Support Manager of Trade Operations in the design and develop of metrics package and scorecards

  • Assist in conducting audits initiated by Corporate Trade & Customs

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience

  • Corporate level accountability for managing Trade & Customs at a firm of at least $1B in revenue

  • Bachelors in business-related discipline, preferably in finance/accounting with a strong understanding of P&L and cost structures

  • Customs brokerage license preferred

  • Excellent working knowledge of Assist and Valuation program

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills able to communicate with all levels

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Proficiency with SAP

  • Positive attitude, self-starter and ability to work in a team environment

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment working with multiple projects and priorities
