Job Title: Senior Associate-Consolidation Reporting

Location: Norwalk, CT

Reports to: Manager - Consolidation Reporting

The Senior Associate will be responsible for overseeing tasks related to the financial reporting requirements for the Newell Brands global consolidation.


  • Primarilyresponsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our financial reportingfor our divisions

  • Analyticallyreview results for each division and identify unexplained or unexpectedvariances and work with your counterparts to resolve any potential issues

  • Identify datavalidation issues and work with divisions to resolve

  • Facilitate theresolution of intercompany out of balances by directly working with divisionsinvolved

  • Review rollforward schedules for select general ledger accounts and work with divisions toidentify and resolve any discrepancies

  • Analyzeactivity in normalized accounts to ensure legitimacy of charges andprojects

  • Responsiblefor preparing select financial statement footnotes that support SEC filings inaccordance with US GAAP

  • Understand ourconsolidation system (HFM) including requirements, reporting and systemfunctionality

  • Ensurebusinesses are adhering to financial policies, practices and procedures

  • Assist withspecial projects within the team as well as with other corporate departments oroperating units, as needed

  • Work directlywith internal and external auditors on specific requests

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Accounting, CPA preferred

  • A minimum of 3- 5 years accounting experience and familiarity with areas of intercompanytransactions, account reconciliations, multi-currency consolidations, financialreporting, SEC reporting

  • Priorexperience with Hyperion Financial Management, including FDM, Smartview andAdHoc reporting tools, SAP strongly preferred

  • Experienceworking in a consumer packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)and/or consumer durables industry preferred

  • Experience infinancial reporting and general ledger areas

  • Strong problemsolving skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks/deliverables

  • Solidunderstanding of general ledger systems and foreign currency translation

  • Highlymotivated, self-starter with a commitment to quality and integrity

  • Strong verbaland written communication skills

  • Strongunderstanding of GAAP

  • Maintainorganized and detailed files documenting accounting issues, processes, andprocedures

  • Collaboratewith other finance department staff and other departments to support overallfinance department goals, initiatives and directives
