Position Title: Analyst-Global SOX Compliance

Location: Norwalk, CT

Reports to: Manager-Global SOX Compliance

Job Summary:

The Analyst-Global SOX Compliance is primarily responsible for performing SOX testing in accordance with the annual SOX Compliance Testing Plan to ensure adequacy of internal controls over financial reporting and to evaluate operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct interviews with key process owners to obtain an understanding of the current processes and clearly document results of interview

  • Performs process walkthroughs which includes, but is not limited to, analyzing current operating processes and policies to ensure processes are occurring as documented

  • Analyze any changes to ensure there are no additional risks as a result of the change

  • Executes tests of design and operating effectiveness for key controls in budgeted time and summarizes results

  • Identifies key control failures and communicates to SOX Team management in a timely manner

  • Identifies improper accounting or documentation and brings to the attention of SOX Team management for guidance on how to proceed; actions may include researching issues and making recommendations to improve policies or procedures accordingly

  • With limited supervision accurately document, evaluate, and communicate the results and conclusions of all audit work performed in accordance with workpaper documentation standards

  • Addresses review notes on testing and documentation as appropriate

  • Assists in the refinement of key controls and oversees the continuous improvement of SOX financial reporting processes and procedures, including maintenance of the SOX Control Matrix (i.e., what can go wrong?)

  • Assists in communicating the results of SOX testing via written reports on a timely basis

  • Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers


  • Minimum 2 years' experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field

  • Candidates must pursue professional certification(s) as a CPA, CIA, CISA or a related certification

  • Experience in PC applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - knowledge of audit software packages is a plus

  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities under pressure

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural diversity

  • Ability to communicate well with crispness, tact and diplomacy

  • Ability to travel 30% domestically and internationally - - 50% during peak audit season
