Position Title: Distribution and Transportation Manager- Rubbermaid Commercial Products

Location: Lumberton, NC

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Distribution and Transportation Manager is responsible for directing transportation, warehousing, and warehouse management systems throughout the department to include activities related to load planning and routing of customer orders.

Job Description :

  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships to maximize the achievement of distribution goals.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements operational enhancements for growing the business and reducing operating costs.

  • Maintain annual operating budget and responsible for department expenses.

  • Communicates with distribution center on upcoming workload.

  • Work directly with customer service on transportation metrics.

  • Provide truckload capacity information for items/quantities.

  • Provide guidance for transportation optimization to reduce costs.

  • Drive cost of failure improvements for the site.

  • Use forecast analytics to work with carriers to ramp up/down resources as needed.

  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipping complaints.

  • Resolve disputes with carriers.

  • Conduct regular meetings with carriers to provide updates with regards to service.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a four year degree in supply chain or related field.

  • Must have five years of leadership experience in a distribution environment.

  • Must be a high performing leader with a document track record of success.

  • Must have an understanding of finance and financial reports.

  • Must have experience building and implementing key performance metrics.

  • Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Must possess strong leadership skills.

  • Must be able to lead and develop the skills of direct reports (hourly and professional).

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

  • Must have conflict Management/Resolution experience.

  • Must have the ability to lead cross functional teams.

  • Must possess strong business acumen.

  • Must have SAP/PKMS systems experience.

  • Must have Project Management experience.

  • Prefer Six Sigma, TQM, and Lean experience.
