Position Title: Ecommerce Finance Sr. Manager - Reporting & Control

Location: Hoboken, NJ

Reports to: Finance Director, Global Ecommerce

The Finance Sr. Manager will lead the accounting, financial reporting, and process controls for the Global Ecommerce Division of Newell Brands. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the right candidate will bring best practices and solid hands-on skills in variance analysis, accounting operations, financial management, but most importantly, will take an active role in providing visibility and forecasting the SG&A of the Division while mentoring and developing team of highly motivated individuals.

The Candidate will be responsible for key account reconciliations and analysis as well as complex problem solving and process optimization. This individual will serve as the right hand to the Director of Finance with responsibilities such as: participation and management of special projects, corporate alignment and coordination, internal controls, end-to-end process implementation and ad hoc analyses as requested.

The position is also responsible for assistance in maintaining the company’s overall financial policies and procedures to ensure GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality of financial reporting for Ecommerce division, including implementing and documenting process efficiencies.

Accuracy and thoroughness is required of this position to meet Company/Division financial commitments and objectives. Coordination of processes, strong business partnership/collaboration and effective cross-functional communication is critical.

Job Duties:

  • Manage,train and mentor team of four; assign team members clear ownership and accountabilityto accomplish goals.

  • Leadthe department to achieve a timely and accurate month-end financial close.

  • Leadall month end close activities in accordance with corporate timeline andpolicies. Ensure all accruals, journal entries and variance analyses areaccurate and submitted in a timely manner. Review supporting documentation foraccruals and re-classes

  • Superviseteam activity including, but not limited to: creating, maintaining and reviewingjournal entries and monthly account reconciliations.

  • Drivestandardization of finance activities and scalable routines, includingdevelopment of training guides and work step instructions.

  • Workclosely with the Corporate Accounting to assist in the development,implementation and enforcement of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal accountingpolicies and generally accepted accounting principles

  • Strongcollaboration with Corporate FP&A team to align on yearly/quarterly budgettargets and communicate risks/opportunities in timely, effective manner.

  • Assistand prepare schedules to be used in Quarterly budgeting and forecasting.

  • Assistin creating and implementing best-in-class practices by helping streamlineprocesses, leveraging systems and identifying further process streamliningopportunities

  • Bea key liaison to other division functions to support and facilitateforecasting, reporting, distribution of data, and analysis of key businessmetrics.

  • Participatein special projects and provide backup coverage as requested by management.

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Accounting / Finance. CPApreferred.

  • 8-10 years of related work experience, with experience working in a consumerpackaged goods (CPG) industry preferred.

  • Priorsupervisory experience in accounting and financial reporting; track record ofsuccessful team development – managing a team to high levels of performance anddeveloping team members for growth and advancement

  • Abilityto analyze and integrate multiple data sources into decision format, interpretsdata, identifies issues/opportunities, and develops and implements solutions.

  • Excellentverbal and written skills, including the ability to develop concise andwell-organized summaries of complex analyses, with an attention to detail andaccuracy.

  • Strongknowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes

  • PriorSAP, Hyperion Financial Management and Blackline experience preferred.

  • Priorexperience managing headcount / people cost budgets and forecasts required(strong collaboration with HR and Payroll departments)

  • Strongexperience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Strongunderstanding of consumer products businesses, SG&A management and accrualreconciliations

  • Abilityand aptitude to work with financial information systems.

  • Customerservice mindset - must be able to build effective working relationships with “clients”within the division and around the company

  • Mustbe very comfortable in complex, fast-paced, matrix environment with limiteddata/system capabilities where ability to lead and influence play critical role

  • Motivated,positive, proactive, transparent, with a “work hard-play hard” attitude. Teamplayer with the ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure and meetdeadlines required. Willing to roll up your sleeves and take on any task to getthe job done.
