Position Title: Manager - Treasury

Reports to: Director - Treasury

Job Summary:

Newell Brands Inc. is seeking an experienced Treasury Manager to join the foreign exchange. The foreign exchange team is a group within Global Treasury that ensures the company effectively mitigates and records various financial exposures with proficiency.

Job Duties:

  • Assist Treasury Director in managing Newell’s global hedging programs by managing the back office, management reporting, treasury systems and hedge accounting responsibilities

  • Manage and execute global back office hedging processes, including but not limited to, trade booking, trade settlement, treasury system FX uploads and documentation/reporting

  • Liaise with accounting on recording of derivatives transactions, generating gain/loss entries and analysis and monthly management reporting on all treasury activities

  • Review and update derivative and capital markets footnotes for the 10K and 10Q filings

  • Identify, recommend, and implement optimal procedures to increase efficiency, cost savings, and enhance controls for FX and capital markets

  • Maintain operational relationships with banks related to derivatives and derivative settlements

  • Implement, administer and monitor treasury management systems; desk procedure updates and optimize new/existing functionality implementations to all treasury systems to drive performance/process improvements including, but not limited to, automation of exposure analysis, trade booking and report generation

  • Act as backup for the FX trading manager and all front office FX responsibilities

  • Participate in performing analysis to accurately identify transactional and translational FX exposures, including building and maintaining valuation models for currencies and assess performance of hedges

  • Drive ad-hoc projects to improve Treasury operations, including implementing company’s transformation plan

  • Primary contact for internal and external audits for the FX and capital markets teams

  • Stay up to date on Hedge Accounting changes and compliance standards


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business related field

  • 2-3 years of Treasury Accounting experience highly preferred

  • 5-7 years of Treasury/Corporate Accounting/Corporate Finance experience at a publicly traded multinational company

  • Solid understanding of key Treasury Finance and Accounting concepts

  • Prior experience with g/l accounting systems, SAP and/or JDE preferred

  • Proficient computer skills including HFM and Microsoft Excel

  • Prior experience with a Treasury Workstation, FireApps and Kyriba preferred

  • Prior experience with FXall and Bloomberg preferred
