Position: Technical Department Leader - Rubbermaid Commercial Products

Location: Hillegom, The Netherlands

Reports to: Operations Manager

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Job summary

As a Technical Department Leader you will manage a team of four people. You will be responsible for the technical services and follow up of performance of our machinery. Through the development of an effective (preventive) maintenance program you will ensure that our machines are available and can be safely operated. You will also initiate projects to improve plant efficiency. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Quality, Health & Safety, Environment Manager and Plant Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sets the priorities for Maintenance activities;

  • Develops, manages and improves preventive maintenance of machinery;

  • Accepts newly installed equipment and integrates it in the daily operations of the maintenance department;

  • Increases Overall Equipment Effectiveness;

  • Is responsible for stock control of technical supplies/spare parts;

  • Reports on a regular basis a set of maintenance KPI’s to the Plant Manager;

  • Examines new production possibilities;

  • Assists in making the (yearly) budget and controls the maintenance spending;

  • Is responsible for CAPEX, in order to acquire/upgrade assets such as buildings/machinery/equipment;

  • Continuously improves on products, services and/or processes in order to minimize waste without sacrificing productivity, efficiency and quality;

  • Enforces the safety and environmental program for the maintenance department;

  • Ensures the team members are adequately trained, equipped and motivated.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Technical Master or equivalent by experience (Engineering, Electro – Mechanics);

  • At least 5 years of experience in technical support;

  • Knowledge of data-analysis;

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (verbal and written)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • The ability to support your team on solving (complex) technical problems;

  • Easily cooperation with other departments (Production, Quality) as well as suppliers;

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
