Position Title: Operations Controller

Location: Greenville SC

Reports To: Finance Director

The Operations Controller will be our key resource supporting our manufacturing plants, the plant managers, and our Operations team. This position reports to the Director of Finance. Responsibilities include plant financial management, inventory controls, capital spend, variance analysis, identifying cost savings, and product costing. The Operations Controller is to drive process improvements and efficiencies.

Essential Functions andResponsibilities:

  • Prepare,maintain, and analyze product standard costing as well as managing the annualcost-roll process

  • Provide financialtransparency pertaining to risks/opportunities and communicate margin impacts,for our 7 manufacturing locations

  • Partner withplant management and operations for all finance/accounting related topics andbe proactive on continuous improvement recommendations

  • Prepare all plantmonth-end closing financial analysis, performance KPI’s, and meaningfulcommentary including detailed manufacturing variance analysis

  • Demonstratesawareness of all elements of a plants financial statements

  • MaintainInventory Controls, Inventory Cycle Count processes, and Physical Inventoriesfor the plants

  • Track costreduction and automation projects to ensure timing and savings are being fullyexecuted

  • Lead the CapitalSpend process from start to finish

  • Prepare andcoordinate the annual budget for the plants (including standard costing andlabor)

  • Reviews existingprocesses, recommending opportunities to streamline and standardize

  • Ability to managesimultaneous projects and analyze current manufacturing footprint

  • Be a leader tohelp drive growth and profitability

  • Performs individualassignments as directed by management team

  • Establishes andmaintains effective work relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • BS Degree inAccounting, Finance, or related field

  • Historical trackrecord working with Operations to drive results

  • 5+ years ofexperience in a plant controller role or related role

  • ERP experiencewith product costing and cost accounting (SAP, Epicor, and BI systems knowledgepreferred)

  • Advanced MS Excelskills, managing spreadsheets and using advanced formulas

  • Experience with amajor manufacturing organization and a minimum of 2 years at a supervisor level

  • Projectmanagement skills and analytical skills, to quickly grasp issues impacting theplant’s financial results

  • Able to work in afast-paced environment, and open to change

  • Excellent communication / presentation skillsand the ability to manage relationships across multiple functions
