Position Title: Account Manager

Reports to: Sr. Director of Sales Delivery

Location: Greenville, SC

Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for growing existing customers and developing new accounts to support the Sales Plan objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Increase our share of available business at Customers by clearly understanding Jarden’s strengths and actively leveraging them into value propositions that meet customer’s needs. Actively engage at all levels within the customer and own the relationship and be the voice of the customer.

  • Develop and maintain top-level contact with major customers, prospects and market leaders including the enhancement of our relationships with customer personnel.

  • Work closely with Program Management, New Business Development, Project Engineering and Plant personnel to successfully develop and execute new programs for new and existing customers.

  • Develop, document and execute a sales strategy & plan to meet defined sales goals. This includes the overall plan, Penetration Plan, Sales Summary, and Deal Flow.

  • Provides monthly, quarterly and annual Plan vs. actual reports with variance reporting.

  • Determine pricing to arrive at desired sales and profit margin within the market. This requires a strong understanding of the markets, customers and competitors.

  • Develop and maintain top-level contact with major customers, prospects and market leaders including the enhancement of our relationships with customer personnel Initiate and monitor customer requests for prices, samples, and other activities related to customer programs, including coordinating resolution of customer requirements and complaints with the Plants using quality assurance, manufacturing, and engineering.

  • Maintain complete competitive profiles and a working knowledge of our competition.

  • Prepare and/or present customer and corporate presentations.

  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.

  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or Science degree in related field.

  • Three to five years of industrial/developmental sales experience in plastics or plastics-related field.

  • The demonstrated skills to read, write, comprehend, and follow written, verbal, and nonverbal communication within all levels of an organization, especially customers.

  • The demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary for the supervision and for interaction with other employees as a team member.

  • Strong ability to utilize today’s computer technology in the execution of his / her job performance for the use of communication, planning, analysis, reporting and management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 85 percent of work time. Standing and walking approximately 15 percent of work time.

  • Must be able to travel >50 percent of work time.

  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.

  • Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
