Newell Brands Distribution Supervisor - 6pm-6:30am in Gardner, Kansas

TITLE : Distribution Supervisor

LOCATION : Gardner, KS

REPORTS TO : Director US Distribution and Transportation


The Distribution Supervisor establishes daily production goals within the distribution center and monitors standards to improve performance. The Distribution Supervisor will lead and manage, through a staff of coordinators and hourly team members.


  • Supervise shipping/ receiving or warehouse personnel to include: Training, Performance Management, Hiring/Firing, Time keeping, scheduling and daily work direction.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry for transactions.

  • Plan and coordinate transfer of materials as need.

  • Develop and recommend improvements in current operation practices to promote efficiency.

  • Plan and assign work for the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.

  • Enforce Company policies including all Safety rules.

  • Respond to customer service questions and requests.

  • Ensure on time delivery of orders to customers.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Support management in staffing and capacity planning

  • Identify departmental productivity improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies and regulatory requirements.

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply chain or Logistics.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution supervision.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP.

  • Must have solid working knowledge of shipping/receiving/ warehousing procedures

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to coach and discipline associates.

  • The ability to motivate and lead associates.

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and handle a dynamic work load.

  • Familiarity with DOT/Hazmat regulations.

  • A valid driver’s license with driving record within MVR policy guidelines.

  • Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding assigned duties and have excellent follow up abilities.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.
