Summary Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate any type truck including semi-trailers to transport finished goods, parts and materials.
Complete pre/post equipment checks and immediately report needed maintenance.
Maintain service on equipment such as checking and adding fuel, oil, water, air, etc.
As required, complete all DOT driving logs and maintain 7 days of logs while driving.
Adhere to all DOT guidelines which include but are not limited to hours of service rules, medical requirements (fit for duty), equipment inspections, compliance to required breaks, compliance to no texting and compliance to using only hands free phones while driving.
As required, compliance to all hazmat transportation and handling rules.Also, complete and maintain hazmat training before transporting any hazmat products.
Get job instructions; handle materials to and from workstation.
Review transportation tags or shipping tags, verify correct count and merchandise and operate forklift to load and unload vehicles or direct the loading or unloading of vehicles by other personnel.
Secure signatures for deliveries and sign for received merchandise.
Hand stacks items in trucks and trailers; report damage to equipment and complete accident reports as required.
Operate vehicles within plants, in city traffic or on open road, observing all rules and regulations; maintain records on vehicles and items transported; may make minor repairs on equipment such as replaces bulbs, loose wires, and reflectors.
Report any medical issues or driving incidents that affect your driving status.
Keep workstation in order.
Perform other duties as required by company management.
2 - 4 years Class 'A' truck driving experience including knowledge of safety regulations as established by DOT.
Must be able to drive a forklift.
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to office inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid CDL (with hazmat where applicable)
Current Medical Examiner's Certificate
Not more than 2 moving violations to maintain company driving statistics

PPE - Personal Protection Equipment: Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses Required. Hand protection required when using a box knife.
