Position Title: ASSOCIATE MANAGER BRAND ACTIVATION - OUTDOOR & RECREATION

Location: FRANKFURT AREA
The Associate Brand Activation Manager Softlines offers a well balanced mix of strategic and operational product management responsibilities. The core task is the initiative pipeline management for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa) in close collaboration with a multi-functional team. This includes product as well as commercial initiatives and can span from pan EMEA launches to customer specific activities. While the Associate Brand Activation Manager will focus on Shelters, Airbeds, Pumps and Sleeping Bags, the role may also support the Brand Activation Manager on other Softlines projects as required.
The role requires close and direct interaction with US Headquarters, R&D, Supply Chain (incl. Sourcing) and local subsidiaries.
Contributes filling the Initiative Pipeline
Identifies and exploits market opportunities in the EMEA region.
Thinks out of the box and challenges the status quo.
Generates consumer, shopper and customer insights through developing a close and deep understanding of the EMEA market and players in the EMEA market.
Articulates key needs for being successful in the EMEA market and assesses global initiative pipeline against these needs.
For regional initiatives, builds convincing business plans to ensure headquarter support
For global initiatives, identifies fit for use for EMEA region and provides early input how potential in EMEA can be maximized
Executes the Initiative Pipeline
Navigates initiatives through stage gate project management process under global leadership, makes sure global teams receive all EMEA inputs on time and complete
Builds strong launch plans together with market organizations
Makes sure each initiative has clear messaging on consumer relevant benefits and features coming to life in store.
Grows Sales and Profitability
Ensures that pricing and profitability is in line with targets across EMEA.
Identifies ideas and leads projects how to grow the business more profitably
Closely collaborates with Sourcing as well as EMEA key markets. Is eager to understand challenges and opportunities how to overcome them
Initiates BTL Communication & Advertising and Promotion
Closely collaborates with the US headquarter, Brand & Communication department and local markets
Creates promotion strategies for its business. Contributes to plans and standards for advertising and product promotions.
Initiates and directs efficient development of POS material, Packaging and Catalogues
Represents brand and company at international trade shows, makes sure its category is presented appropriately
Closely collaborates with EMEA markets and US headquarter
Acts convincingly and passionately as “owner”, “expert” and “face” of the category
Generates passion and enthusiasm behind its initiatives
Is involved in strategic customer meetings whenever appropriate
• Bachelors degree in Marketing. MBA or equivalent is considered a plus
• At least 18-24 months job experience in Product Management, preferably on Durables or other technical / complex consumer products.
• Additional experience in Communication and / or Sales is considered a plus.
• Passion for strategic and operational tasks alike: sophisticated analytic skills (incl. financials) that likes to turn insights into action
• Outstanding communication skills, being able to effectively communicate with a diverse multi-functional team with different personal backgrounds across different locations.
• Preferably international experience, i.e. lived outside home country or experienced in interacting with different cultures.
• Solid technical understanding / passion for technical products is considered a plus
• Fluent in English is a must (company language), additional European languages are a plus
