Position Title: Manager, Distribution and Warehousing
Reports to: Director, Warehouse & Logistics
Location: Fisher IN
Responsible for the daily activity and management of multiple warehouses.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates daily warehouse activity including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, warehouse layout, production location, cycle counting, purchasing, maintenance, and safety.
Ability to assist in supervising a skilled work force consisting of tractor/trailer drivers, forklift operators, receivers, shippers, mechanics, and administrative personnel.
Communicates regularly with distribution centers, plant schedules, product availability, customer requirements, shipments, receipts, and inventories in order to provide the highest level of customer service.
Prepares and submits for approval, the annual warehouse capital and operating budgets, and monitors all warehouse expenditures against said budget for all DCs in the Food Division.
Establishes, maintains, and enforces all necessary operating and safety policies through the use of written and oral communications including regular shift meetings and safety meetings.
Coordination with the DCs on productivity projects that help drive efficiencies and improvements to the overall productivity metric and GM%.
Assist with future and strategic plans for the DC network for the Food Division.
Closely coordinate workflow and schedules with the Transportation Team to ensure smooth execution of monthly sales/invoicing volumes along with large promotional volume execution.
Assist with investigation and work for elimination of COF issues/penalties as identified and coordinate all communications on process updates with the DCs
Liaison for Customer Service and Transportation Teams with regard to any special customer requirements and the impact to the DC operations.
Approve/Process all expense related PRs, expense reports, Pcards, AFEs, CARS, OARS for the Food Division DCs.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Promote, encourage and support a culture of Safety awareness through programs such as the SEAL and drive importance of safety for all workers in the Food Division DCs.
Develop and work with the DC managers and the HR teams to ensure succession planning and career paths are established in the DC network
Bachelor's degree in business/logistics/operations required.
TECHNICAL ROLE COMPETENCIES:
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have solid organizational skills and be able to work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to travel 20-25% percent of work time.
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends/holidays
Eight or more years in a warehouse environment.
Five or more years in a warehouse supervisory/management role.
Knowledge of federal and state DOT, OSHA, EPS, DEP, and other regulatory agencies, practices, and policies
