Position Title: Process Engineer - Quality Systems

Location: Erlanger, KY

Reports To: Sr. Quality Manager

Job Summary:

The Process Engineer – Quality Systems brings a process-oriented mindset to optimize select USPC processes for the manufacturing of playing cards. Optimizations should result in improved product quality, more efficient operations and maximized use of labor.

The Process Engineer – Quality Systems supports overall continual improvement of Quality through superior teamwork, disciplined methods, sampling, experimentation, project management, data analysis, communication and reporting.


  • Guiding teams to optimize USPC manufacturing processes. Teams would be comprised of Quality,Operations, Engineering and Maintenance.

  • Develop root cause analysis and implementation of correctiveactions for process and quality concerns.

  • Review and update the Preventative Maintenance process by workingwith Operations and Maintenance to identify efficiencies and opportunities tostreamline and improve documentation and communication.

  • Perform process audits to determine conformance to establishedprocedures and standards.

  • Responsible for documenting continual improvement activities andoutcomes. Using Six Sigma tools whenapplicable.

  • Conduct customer complaint investigations. Work with area manager to determinepreventative actions to avoid future complaints.

  • Track, document and respond to product performance trends. (Quality audit data and card attribute data)

Requirementsfor this position:

  • Able to effectively present technical information in formal andinformal formats to communicate across all levels of business.

  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently at times.

  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Officeproducts and statistical analysis programs.SAP knowledge is a plus.

  • Familiar with 5S, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

  • Must be team-oriented, have excellent attendance, time management,critical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving and trouble shootingskills.

  • Ability to balance work on long term projects and day to daytasks.

  • Can demonstrate and be considered a leader in company values.

Physicaldemands and work environment:

  • Physical exertion required in lifting, bending, pushing andpulling.

  • Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.

  • Infrequent prolonged standing up to 8 hours.

  • Ability to work on 2nd or 3rd shift may be required for limitedperiods of time to support project work.

  • Working in a manufacturing environment while wearing appropriatepersonal protective equipment.

  • Corrected 20/20 vision is required along with no less than averagecolor acuity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree at minimum.Mechanical Engineering or any similar engineering, math or sciencefield.

  • Internships or Co-Op experience in manufacturing required.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
