Position Title: Manager, E-Commerce Technology

Reports to: Director of Marketing Operations & E-Commerce

Job Summary:

The Manager, E-Commerce Technology provides technical leadership and execution on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform (Demandware) as well as other applications in the e-commerce technology stack. S/he acts as the platform administrator leveraging deep front/back-end expertise to support operations in the production environment, while having a strong bias for application development and UX.

The ideal candidate possesses strategic and technical latitude to understand and translate business strategy into technical requirements, and creates a development roadmap that effectively delivers best in class user experience. S/he has a hands-on approach, but can also manage other developer teams as required. S/he collaborates closely with Digital Merchandising and Creative teams to define end-to-end requirements, formalize scope of work and deliver solutions on time, on cost and on spec.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and document end-to-endrequirements for site features and e-commerce solutions in collaboration withMerchandising and Creative teams. Formalize scope of work and create developmentroadmap. Translate requirements into technical specifications, identifying jobsto be done, resource requirements and budget allocation.

  • Develop and implementsolutions per scope of work. Manage multiple small-to-large size projectsensuring all are completed with quick turnaround and a high level of attentionto detail. As incremental bandwidth is required, hire and manage third-partytechnical resources.

  • Serve as a subject matterexpert for UX development. Understand the visual design and UX/UI treatmentsfor new and existing online experiences across viewports in desktop and mobile.Work with Merchandising and Creative teams to design and perform strategic A/Btesting.

  • Diagnose and solvetechnical problems related to commerce implementation, including front endintegration with third-party vendors and back end integration with SAP. Serveas escalation point for e-comm platform users who get stuck or need help.

  • Strategic assessment ofalternative technology platforms in light of current and future business needs.Provide recommendations for improvements considering user experience,performance, scalability and cost. Lead the organization through transition ofmajor technologies.

  • Manage components of the e-commercebudget related to technology.

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree inComputer Science or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience insystems integration, implementation and custom development with multiplecommerce platforms.

  • Expert level knowledgeand experience on SFCC (Demandware):

  • Understand architecturalprinciples and coding patterns of Site Genesis.

  • Deep understanding of howOrder, Promotions, Price Books, Shipping methods, Site Preferences andAdministration functions work in Business Manager.

  • Integrationexperience with multiple third-party vendors. This includes, but not limited to,payment gateway solutions, loyalty vendors, ratings & reviews, socialnetworking sites, etc.

  • Customization developmentfor Custom Objects, Content, Products and Catalogs, Search, Ordering,Analytics, Site Preferences, etc.

  • Knowledge of bestpractices in UX design and A/B testing.

  • Deep working knowledge ofJavaScript Controllers and Pipelines.

  • Strong front-end engineeringskills (HTML, CSS, SASS, JS, PHP).

  • Experience developingsolutions for cross browser and viewports using responsive web design.

  • Experience providingpixel perfect HTML/CSS/JS.

  • Experience with hiringand coordinating teams of third-party technical resources (including off-shore)as incremental development bandwidth is required.
