Plans and oversees the day to day operations of a shift in a manufacturing environment to include but not limited to: safety, quality, production requirements, data entry, inventory accuracy, and maintenance scheduling. This position will also take an active lead in the continuous improvement efforts for the entire department to include but not limited to: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Data Collection / Analysis, and Changeover Reduction (SMED)
Audit and continually improve safety aspects of department.
Works with team to focus on and continually improve quality standards and performance.
Works with Supply Chain team to prioritize production jobs and ensure that all required materials are in stock and ready for production
Clearly communicate and uphold the organizations policies and objectives.
Ensure that the work environment has a positive influence on motivation, satisfaction and performance of associates by; creative work methods and providing opportunities for greater involvement to realize the potential of each associate, providing guidance and setting the standard on safety rules including the use of PPE, and proper ergonomics.
Participate and be actively involved in Best Practices, and Team Meetings promoting continuous improvement within the organization with emphasis on weekly 6S Audits.
Take the lead in the continuous improvement efforts across shift and department.
Ensure production totals are correctly entered into ERP system (Epicor) including production totals, scrap, proper material usage, downtime, unscheduled time, etc.
Works closely with maintenance and engineering to prioritize safety improvements, PMs, breakdowns fixes, etc
Periodically performs internal system audits to ensure processes and procedures are being followed.
Assists Operations Manager with complaint resolution by analyzing problem to determine the Root Cause and then developing Correction / Preventative Actions. Upon completion of complaint resolution enter data into Issue Trak and provide feedback and/or training to all associates as outlined in the corrective/preventative action.
Any and all other reasonable tasks as assigned to support continued growth, improvement, and profitability of Newell Brands Applied Materials.

HS diploma plus minimum 5-7 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
Progressive knowledge and experience in participating in or facilitating continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of 5S principles and experience implementing 5S in a manufacturing environment
Fundamental understand of Lean Manufacturing principles and application to work environment
