Position Title: Inventory Control Manager - Safety & Security Division
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Location: Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico
The Inventory Control Manager will monitor procedures to ensure that the proper inventory is in all warehouse locations (Plant 1 and 2 in Juarez as well as El Paso DC). The position will assist management in develop and implement a formal program to audit all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy. This position will lead the cycle counts in a program to identify and eliminate any problems found in daily cycle counts. Will assist warehouses with their inventory control procedures.
Design strategies to minimize the cost or time required to move Materials
Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement
Lead a team of storage/warehousing personnel through process of counting and recording inventory
Responsible for actual inventory counts; must be knowledgeable about inventory items to be counted, the counting procedures used, and location of all inventories
Develop, implement, and monitor all key SAP functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely posted.
Lead the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.
Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
Coordinate the efforts of the cycle counts in an effort to identify and correct discrepancies on items at the location level as needed.
Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored.
Perform managerial functions, including retraining members of staff of the warehouse if necessary.
Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and Quality inspection personnel.
Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
Need to travel to Juarez El Paso to perform Inventory controls in both locations.
Actively participates in the 5S Program, which is a critical objective of the business, ensuring compliance with the program's regulations and carrying out the activities required as Auditor, Coordinator, Leader or member of the Committee.
Develop the work in a safe, efficient and ethical manner.
Ensure the effectiveness of the quality management system and the availability of the resources necessary to achieve it.
Conduct in accordance with the guidelines of the quality policy and ensure that it is communicated and understood at all levels.
Define quality objectives, communicate them to all applicable levels and actively participate in achieving them
Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years’ experience related field.
Solid experience in Inventory Control
Computer Software skills (MS Office, Windows, SAP)
Knowledge of General Accounting
Positive teamwork attitude and communication
Bilingual English/Spanish (desirable)
