Process Technician (3rd Shift)

Process technician will work with injection molding personnel in the processing of molded products. Develop and improve processing parameters for both existing and new products so that efficiencies and quality of products are maximized. Work to provide cycle, cavitation increases, while decreasing reject rates.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work with injection molding Supervisor, process engineering, and molders in order to identify problems in the processing of product.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions.

  • Work with process improvement/tooling manager in the development of new product processing parameters.

  • Work with the tooling department supervisor, machinists and mechanics as necessary in the development of processing techniques as it relates to tooling.

  • Develop and document injection molding production process.

  • Review injection molding processes in order to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

  • Ensure injection molding processes are optimized and documented.

  • Coordinate with engineering tooling design recommendations, outside repairs and modifications.

  • Optimize cycles.

  • Reduce reject rates

  • Maintain cavitation

  • Maintain run documentation

  • Maintain a safe working environment

  • Assist action teams and increase awareness of continuous improvement methodology to the technical staff.

  • Assist in the training of molder’s

  • Fill in for molders to cover vacation’s, etc.

  • Start up new tools, document and develop process sheets.

Qualifications:

Hs Diploma or equivalent

Four to Five years molding experience

Physical Requirements& Work Environment:

Sitting at workstation approximately 20 percent of work time, walking approximately 80 percent of work time.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to travel up to 10% of time

Ability to work overtime including weekends with short notice.

Typical office/manufacturing environment with heat/cold and machinery with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
