Position Title: Senior Manager, DTC

Location: Brampton, Canada

Reports to: Director, eCommerce DTC

The Sr. Manager, ECommerce Direct to Consumer (DTC) is responsible for managing the ECommerce DTC strategy and execution across multiple brands/divisions. The ideal candidate should have a strong ECommerce merchandising or buying background with a blend of marketing, analytical and creative skills. This role requires partnerships with several cross-functional teams including Brand Marketing and Trade teams to establish new strategies for growing the direct to consumer ECommerce business across all Newell Brands.

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Canada DTC function across Newell ECommerce websites and brands

  • Lead the merchandising strategy and execution for DTC websites and accountable for the growth of the DTC business, revenue, margin goals and web KPIs

  • Develop and oversee the execution of the promotions strategy, merchandising and marketing calendars across the portfolio of Newell Brands

  • Prioritize key merchandising initiatives through identifying and analyzing the highest ROI initiatives

  • Create new selling strategies and models (subscriptions, bundles, exclusives, custom products etc.) for DTC to increase revenues by creating differentiation for the DTC channel

  • Manage assortment and partner with the planning and operations teams to ensure proper inventory coverage

  • Innovate new strategies to improve customer retention and repeat purchases through the direct channel and increase consumer engagement and stickiness through the DTC websites

  • Measure and analyze consumer adoption of site merchandising strategies and iterate to increase revenue and conversion

  • Ensure that the ECommerce websites have the best in class merchandising capabilities including up-sells, cross sells, enhanced content, etc.

  • Collaborate with cross functional partners within ECommerce division and across the broader enterprise to align on the various merchandising initiatives, strategy, and proposals

  • Lead new product launches on the DTC websites and provide expert guidance to cross functional teams on how to leverage the ECommerce direct channel for these campaigns

  • Collaborate with the Product Management, UX, External Agencies, Marketing, and Brand teams to ensure that the front end meets ECommerce merchandising needs

  • Collaborate with Digital Shelf team in creating content for DTC websites that will increase conversion

  • Partner with the Pricing team to create a Pricing strategy for the direct ECommerce business across multiple brands, ensuring that the business goals are met and channel conflicts with indirect channels are mitigated

  • Manage a team of Managers and Associates within the DTC function

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of experience working in ECommerce for a large retailer or CPG company

  • Ability to work in a startup environment and within a large matrixed organization with a passion for both speed and simplicity

  • Experience managing and leading an ECommerce team (merchandisers/buyers/marketers)

  • Interpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively partner and connect with team members across various level, functions and geographies

  • High level of strategic agility and ability to develop and implement new strategies, business plans and solutions and achieve stakeholder buy-inStrong project planning and organizational skills with a high level of detail orientation

  • Ability to operate autonomously and proactively develop innovative ideas and solutions

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or similar filed, MBA strongly preferred.

  • Additional Preferences: Experience working in a consumer packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry in a direct to consumer capability, or in a merchandising/ buying function with a larger retailer
