Position overview:

This position is responsible for delivering compelling category growth solutions for our customers derived from brand development plans and deployed with our customer delivery organization within the Baby Division. The Associate Manager has accountability to help maximize the distribution of existing products for Graco, Baby Jogger, & NUK as well as deliver perfect launches of New Product Innovation. The role of this job is to be the internal face of the customer by utilizing combined knowledge of brand, customer and consumer strategies to develop and execute programs that grow brand equity and sales.

The Associate Manager, Trade Marketing supports three key deliverables in service to the Business Development Organization:

1) NPD commercialization plans.

2) Leverage Year 2 Innovation Plans.

3) Build and deliver Core Business Growth Plans.

Essential Duties:

  • Works with Manager to align within and across channels to maximize growth and minimize conflict for the Baby Division. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing the overall brand/segment strategy across multiple channels of distribution supporting Graco, Baby Jogger, and NUK.

  • Furthermore, this role will assist in delivering segment targets around gross sales, net sales and gross margin for Baby Division.

Channel Strategy:

  • Assists manager in executing priorities set by Baby Division Leadership in service to the corporate strategy

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Graco, Baby Jogger, & NUK and customer-specific strategies.

  • Recommends priorities within channels/customers.

  • Provides customer perspective into category strategy development in conjunction with Trade Strategy team

  • Serve as customer voice in product development meetings

  • Integrates Category Strategy selling stories in line review and related customer presentations

  • Ensures innovation and merchandising solutions comply with customer merchandising strategy and requirements

Channel Planning and Execution:

  • Understands brand and customer priorities and uses the planning process to drive strategic alignment

  • Aid in the recommendation of sku assortment priorities, financial guidelines and synergies across customers and Baby brands.

  • Provides insights on assortment mix to maximize sales and profitability

  • Recommends improvements from the previous year based on success of initiatives and marketplace trends

  • Participates in Line Review process in collaboration with their Manager, Sales, Customer Marketing, Brand Activation, and Brand Development

  • Works with internal cross-functional team to deliver channel/customer objectives and strategies, communicating clear needs for the upcoming line review(s)

  • Works with Trade Strategy team to complete selling stories and supporting tools for line review

  • Works with Sales to drive activity with customer, manage/drive expectations, and establish mutual goals for the line review.

  • Helps manager work with finance to ensure plans meet segment financial requirements

  • Participates in actual line review meetings and represents the brand and commercial aspects of marketing

Pricing and Trade Fund Guidance:

  • Helps advise and validate pricing actions for the Baby Division.

  • Understands what trade funds or customer program spend is available or needed for programming and communicates to Finance.

  • Ensures that trade funds are being used to promote brand growth.

  • Focus on net sales and GM

  • Helps review and validate financial analysis on line review strategies, merchandising, pricing decisions, co-marketing activities etc.

Other Duties:

  • Support all content development for internal meetings

  • Attend in-field store visits to have a complete understanding of how the shopper responds to customer and Baby brands in the shopping environment

  • Aid manager in reviewing customer promotions and spend

  • Aid in completing miscellaneous logistics for line review(s) when necessary

  • Four-year college degree

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of marketing experience

  • Project management experience

  • Collaborating with others to achieve results.

  • Experience with Microsoft Software to include: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong Communication Skills
