Newell Brands Manager - International Tax in Boca Raton, Florida

Position Title: Manager-International Tax

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Reports to: Director-International Tax

Job Summary:

The International Tax Manager is responsible for the preparation and review of Newell Brands U.S. international tax compliance and tax accounting related obligations. In addition, this individual will provide support for strategic planning, research, acquisition and divestiture due diligence reviews and integration, U.S. and foreign tax audits and other special projects as required. The International Tax Manager will report to the Director, International Tax and partner closely with cross-functional teams.

Job Duties:

  • Participate in acquisition due diligence processes and tax integration

  • Assist in the preparation and review of the international portion of the U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120 including Form 5471s, Form 8858s, Form 8865s, related elections and disclosures and any other required forms and schedules required to determine and support the accuracy of the filings

  • Prepare calculation of the US tax basis earnings and profits ('E&P') and related tax pools of all controlled foreign corporations

  • Assist in the calculation of all foreign income inclusions in the US 1120, including Subpart F inclusions, GILTI, foreign tax credits, and expense allocations necessary for preparation of Form 1118

  • Participate in drafting responses to inquiries, data requests, audits, and proposed adjustments received from the US tax authorities

  • Identify and implement process improvements associated with the international portion of the U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120

  • Research tax issues related to tax return preparation, audit support, and tax planning as needed

  • Support the interim and annual unremitted earnings calculation and reporting

  • Assist with the international portion of the provision and collaborate, understand and assist on worldwide provision

  • Develop excellent working relations with other cross-functional teams as necessary

  • Willing to learn and assist within other areas of the tax function, such as State & Local and Domestic tax, when needs arise


  • BS in Accounting or similar field required – MBA, MST, JD and/or CPA strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of international tax experience with a focus on compliance & reporting

  • 5+ years tax experience in manufacturing or public accounting; or any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required

  • Knowledge in accounting for income taxes

  • Knowledge and experience with OneSource tax and accounting software is preferred
