Position Title: Assistant Manager, Sales Planning eCommerce - Appliances & Cookware

Location: Boca Raton

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Sales Planning

The role of Sales Planning is to commercialize sales and marketing programs within all channels of distribution and to identify channel-specific business-building opportunities; work cross functionally to deliver sales and profit results through commercialization of the overarching brand/trade strategies to the customer/channel. This role also will have ownership of P&L management for the channel, including Trade Spend/TPM, promotional calendars and pricing.

Specific Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Channel Strategy

  • Assist in developing channelstrategy for top customers

  • Contributes and executespriorities set by VP/ Director.

  • Tracks success metrics.

  • Executes strategy asappropriate.

Channel Planning and Execution

  • Assists with the annual channelmanagement planning process relative to area of responsibility.

  • Helpsalign planning process with Newell Brands and customer planning throughthe line review process.

  • Understandsbusiness, brand, and customer priorities and uses the planning process tofind common ground.

  • Assistswith priorities and drives synergies across customers and brands withinarea of responsibility.

  • Conduct a situationassessment, including analysis of primary and secondary data acrossmarket, shopper, and the channel / region.

  • Assists with categorymanagement recommendations to optimize performance of shelf set, such asoptimal SKU assortment, merchandising and shelf/ catalog layout.

  • Supports annual plandevelopment and calendar of activities for channel

  • Developsa calendar of activities and rationale within scope of responsibility.

  • Developprogram financial and non-financial success metrics based on previousperformance. Measures progress and recommends improvements.

  • Preparationof analysis to ensure plans meet financial requirements

  • Providesappropriate POS measurements to aid in the decision making process andanalysis

  • Execute the plan includingpromotional programs, such as in-store merchandising signage or displays,retailer feature ads, events (trade shows), and channel-specific marketingsupport materials. Ensures consistency with brand guidelines andpoint of sale.

  • Supports and executes theline review preparation process, collaborating with Sales and Brand /Product Management. Works to drive pre-sell activity with customer,manage/drive expectations, and establish mutual goals for the meeting.

Pricing and Trade FundGuidance

  • Recommends channelperspective and needs for pricing.

  • Analyzesaccount pricing and distribution for NWL and competitive brands.

  • Communicatesretailer margin and pricing expectations

  • Tracks, analyzes, andreports potential impact of pricing exceptions on channel.

  • Analyzes NWL brand andcompetitive price within area of responsibility.

  • Tracks what trade funds orcustomer program spend is available or needed for programming.

  • Analyzesthe effectiveness of trade spend within area of responsibility.

Market, Shopper, and Channel /End-User Insights

  • Compile and analyze market,shopper / end-user, and channel knowledge gaps and creates a summary forthe business to review.

  • Manage timelines and leaddeliverables for all line reviews.

  • Analyzes profiles ofcompetitors and channel customers using primary and secondary research anddata.

  • Gathers competitive andmarketplace intelligence and share with the organization, ultimatelyconstructing a competitive profile and comp shop analysis.

Brand Stewardship andMerchandising Innovation

  • Supports the analysis of newproduct launch and merchandising initiatives.

  • Recommendspotential launch activation approaches.

  • Managestimelines associated with implementation.

  • Managesoverall new product distribution files.

  • Completes forecast tools.

Financial Management

  • Prepares product mixrecommendations.

  • Forthe retail partner/at the customer level,

  • Forthe business profitability

  • Collects and summarizesbusiness risks and opportunities.

  • Tracks and maintainsappropriate cost center budget elements and communicate issues

  • Engages in S&OP processto provide input to

  • Improveforecast accuracy.

  • Recommendideas to reduce finished goods inventory and E&O, and identifyunproductive SKU’s.

  • Executeand monitor exits and changeovers


  • 1 - 3 Years Work Experience

  • Experience with a CPG ordurable company, ideally in channel management, brand management,insights, or sales

  • eCommerce experience highly preferred

  • Leading a team of people toachieve results.

  • Collaborating with partnersand other organizations to achieve results.

  • Four year College/Universitydegree

  • Fluent in English(verbal and written)

  • Up to 25% travel may berequired
