Position Title: Key Account Manager / Supply Chain Advisor

Location: Bentonville, AR

Reports To: National Account Manager

This customer-facing supply chain leader reports directly to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. The priority of the role is to identify, direct, and align the operational resources and requirements to successfully/profitably manage the account/channel supply chain needs. Position requires a fundamental understanding of the customer(s) replenishment procedures, supply chain disciplines (such as inventory and transportation management), CPFR, S&OP, Retail Link, direct import, logistics, forecast/demand planning and order/product flow. The leader must be able to effectively recognize supply chain improvement areas, KPIs and successfully communicate across the organization to secure the deployment of activities which facilitate sales growth, profitability gains, customer-service metrics improvement and reputational capital gains.

Essential Functions andResponsibilities:

  • Supply ChainManagement Support - leader provides ongoing guidance and support to theCustomer Development team regarding forecasting direction, supply chain issues,freight management, transportation trends, capacity updates, and a wide varietyof operational/supply chain inputs to support the business development efforts.

  • Replenishment - Positionis a primary point of contact with customer for replenishment of Newell Brandsbusiness segments. He/she will be responsible for aligning resources anddirecting activities such as: supply chain reporting customer KPIs, root causeanalysis, inventory trends. Leader will examine the impact of customerinventory tactics/policies on shipments and existing inventory goals both withthe customer and internally. Reduce the cost to serve through distribution,transportation, lead-time management and order profile management.

  • Distribution& Transportation Leadership – the Customer-Facing Supply Chain Manager isdesignated as the customer/channel primary subject matter expert ondistribution & transportation topics and order flow execution. As such, theaccount team utilizes this person to identify key improvement opportunities andcustomer alignment opportunities to minimize the cost of moving product withinthe Newell Brands and/or customer networks. Key projects may includerecommendations and analysis for load planning for key events, optimizing cubecapacity, lead-time reduction, identifying alternative shipment modes, palletprofiles, 3PL services and a variety of other solutions which may optimizeNewell Brands’ and the customer's freight or distribution costs. This leaderwill routinely share best practices with his/her team and with the businesssegments in order to drive ongoing reduction of the cost-to-serve activities.

  • Forecasting - Aligns with customer and Customer Developmentteam members to identify and interpret the key demand signals and thecorresponding impact on customer inventory positions. He/she translates thisinformation clearly and articulately to the business segment demand planningteams. The leader understands forecasting complexities, source of variabilityand is successful managing vast amounts of data and aligning resources tosupport the variations in customer demand. Requires working knowledge of CPFRand S&OP practices. Frequent contact with customer replenishment and planningteams should be a primary business objective to address promotional eventplanning, modular exit strategies, new item introductions and modular updates.The leader will closely align and routinely collaborate routinely with businesssegments to ensure the demand planning processes are effective and improvingthe customer service metrics. When corrective action is required, he/she willidentify root causes and communicate findings to his/her team and the NWLbusiness segment for corrective action and to address the ongoing follow-upneeds.


  • Bachelors Degree,Business background preferred

  • 5+ yearsWalmart/Mass/Club business experience marked with significant experience addressing/resolutioncustomer supply chain proceedings or demand planning tasks.

  • High level ofproficiency in executive level communication. Strong presentation skills andability to provide professional analysis to executive leadership at ourcustomers and within Newell Brands.

  • Proficient in MSOffice Suites with particularly strong abilities with Excel, Retail Link

  • Demonstratedability to work within a team.

  • Excellentorganizational and analytical skills.

  • Sound financialacumen.

  • SAP – APO and BEXexperience a plus.
