Newell Brands Category Analyst in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Title: Category Management Analyst

Location: Bentonville, AR

Reports to: Category Advisor

The Category Management Analyst supports assigned customer, categories and brands through providing data analysis and support on customers, merchandising, opportunity and operations. The position requires extensive sales analysis and will interact with many groups across the organization and customer. The Category Management Analyst will coordinate and lead monthly update meetings with relevant teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting

  • Run customized customer reports to support Category Captain in analyzing current business to including weekly, monthly and Year To Date POS, Market Basket Data

  • Maintain standard reports to track business (POG Productivity, Contribution, etc.)

  • Identify opportunities and improve business with Customer Category Manager/Buyer

  • Diagnose success of promotional activities

Category Growth

  • Forecasting – comparison of forecasts in customer system vs. customer sales,

  • Mine and develop insights that provide proactive view of the category and shopper trends.

  • Customer Account Support

  • Attend buyer meetings

  • Back-up for Category Captain, as secondary contact to personnel such as Buyers, Buyer’s Assistants, POG Development, and Analysts etc.

  • Assist Category Captain as required, such as create New Item and assortment review, buyer preparation for Category Line Reviews, POG Development etc.

Retail Development

  • Conduct regular store walks to:

  • Monitor Integrity of planogram

  • Investigate competitive pressures in store

  • Assess promotional execution

  • Conduct regular competitive retailer store walks to:

  • Compile/maintain pricing information

  • Assess promotional activity

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years of category management experience demonstrating steadily increasing responsibilities

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong negotiation skills and persuasive selling skills

  • Proven track record of results

  • Superior communication, presentation and people skills

  • Strong conflict management/composure skills

  • Strong ProSpace and POG skills

  • Proficient in Windows Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Powe BI a plus

  • Experience with Retail Link is a plus
