Position Title: Supply Chain Specialist
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Aurora, IL
This position reports to the Supply Chain Planner and is responsible for overall project management regarding product life cycle management. This will include new products rollouts, existing changes to current products and end of life management. Primary responsibility is to create and maintain an effective liaison between all functional areas in the company that would allow the team to ensure seamless delivery of high quality service and commitments to our Customers
Learn all aspects of new product launches and collateral changes from all functional areas through the business and build a repeatable process, checklist and reporting tool.
Create list of all tasks needed to support project launches, transitions and discontinuations / end of life management.
Meet weekly with project members to ensure tasks are being completed on time to meet customer and financial commitments.
Document all procedures so there is one easy process that can be followed for each rollout where we create a checklist and the rollouts start to become seamless.
Assist with communication and support across critical areas of the business to ensure new products are successfully introduced into production.
Works as a supply chain liaison between all functional areas to make sure the Operations side of the business is ready for any new changes or existing changes on products
Ability to lead cross functional collaborative meetings to drive execution of new product requirements
Prepare project plans and report on progress and adherence to timeline.
Create and organize Product Launch teams. Plan and facilitate regular meetings.
Identify risks or deficiencies and communicate to management team.
Participates in preparing program’s budget, creates and monitors budget statements, assists in designing reports.
Researches and develops internal and external communications including presentations, speaking points, correspondence and other written materials.
Communicates (verbal and written) with a wide range of internal departments and serves as a liaison on behalf of the department leadership to foster strong working relationships.
Represents the department, program or project with various level of personnel both internally and externally.
Responds to unanticipated complex issues and manages critical and confidential information.
Applies analytical skills, tools and techniques to improvement efforts.
Collaborates with other system functions as required on training initiatives (e.g., IT, Quality, Customer Service, Operations etc.).
Provides calendar management support for the department; facilitates and schedules meetings, including logistics; helps set meeting priorities; communicates meeting objectives and helps identifies materials needed for meeting; distributes materials in advance of meeting as advised by leadership and exercises judgment to ensure appropriate parties attend meeting
Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes suggestion for change and drives for results
Bachelor’s Degree- BS/BA in business, supply chain management
3+ years of supply chain experience
3+ years’ experience project management
Strong analytical skills and communication skills
Strong professional interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – must for Excel and some Access
Excellent collaboration and presentations skills
Ability to manage cross-functional teams’ interactions on all company levels
Ability to work independently and multi-task
Experience with statistical demand forecasting software needed such as SAP-APO, Logility, JDA Manugistics, Demand Solutions, etc.
