Retail Activation Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Retail Activation Manager will be accountable for developing the brand commercialization strategies for a product grouping(s) within a brand to build consumer demand and market share, grounded in deep shopper, product, and market understanding. Retail Activation Manager will establish clear objectives for brand communication and a vision for short and long-term success by developing new product launches and integrated retail activation plans, often with the assistance of Trade and Brand Marketing teams

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and manages the execution of effective product launches.

  • Responsible for directing the execution of effective commercialization programs on time and at an exceptional level of quality

  • Serves as the key liaison between trade marketing, sales, and brand in regard to go-to-market commercialization strategies and execution

  • Sets clear and measurable goals for activation marketing programs, directs the monitoring of progress and project modifications as needed

  • Ensure all developed tools have a clear measurement criteria, are outlined in the relevant work plans and come with the appropriate training / instructions for in market execution

  • Working with the Trade Marketing Manager and Sales to ensure the relevant CRM platforms reflect the agreed trade activation instructions and measurements

  • Supports trade marketing in the planning cycle of retail and product/category activation

  • Outline an annual trade communication plan, identifying key messages and communication methods to reach the targeted audience

  • Leads overall guidance to creative service team(s) and/or approved agency partners in regard to in-store merchandising

  • Manages prioritizing of retail activation initiatives and tracks/manages activation budget for categories

  • Works collaboratively with finance to communicate drivers of and changes in activation cost

  • Measures and analyzes ROI of in-store marketing programs and recommends improvements as needed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree with a major or minor in marketing

  • 5+ years of brand/trade activation experience

  • Experience in category management and channel execution

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and database programs

  • Project management experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with retail and hardware marketing/selling is a plus

  • Familiarity with ecommerce marketing and selling is a plus

  • Ability to act successfully in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational, communication, collaboration and analytical skills

  • Self-starter driven to achieve results

  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and large events simultaneously
