Position Title: Continuous Improvement Analyst
Reports to: Divisional Productivity Manager
Location: Aurora, IL
Productivity Analyst will be responsible for driving continuous improvement projects as well as working on cross-functional teams to coach productivity tools and proccess across Newell - CHS. Continuous improvement efforts will focus on making sustainable gains in OEE, quality, safety, cost, and delivery. Methods for achieving and sustaining improvements will be based on Newell continuous improvement principles including Six Sigma, TPM and LEAN. The team member will need to collaborate closely with Newell's "PEAK Team", Newell’s branded improvement strategy, is fundamental to that goal. A Center of Excellence with a deep competency in implementing PEAK PACS (Processes, Applications, Capabilities, and Systems) in Supply-Chain Team on improvement methodology, as well as supply chain, operations, sourcing, and other internal partners to achieve the project objectives aligned with the business needs. The team member will be responsible for analysis and project support of a broad nature while exercising considerable judgment and creativity. The team member needs to be able to carry out appropriate financial analysis to validate/support proposals and gain support of key stakeholders.
Analyze given data and operating conditions; implement changes and follow-up on results by involving key responsible people (i.e. sponsor, process owner, operator)
Responsible for identifying, chartering, and sometimes leading significant improvement initiatives - delivering the project results on time
Provide project updates to the site leadership team and project stakeholders highlighting the current status, adherence to the project time plan, work accomplished, quick wins, points of escalation, elements of risk and the associated mitigation plans
Develop project teams on key skills to drive improvement
Utilize Newell PEAK tools and methodologies to drive sustainable operational improvements
Carry out sustainability programs to maintain the achieved savings, to complete additional training, to detect further savings opportunities
Professionally challenges current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways/approaches
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent degree
1-2 years experience in a manufacturing / warehouse role or in a Central Supply Chain type role with project expierence
Interpersonal skills, self confidence, leadership abilities
Ability to build trust and interact with all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of analytics tools such as PowerBI
Computer literate (including mastery of all Microsoft Office Suite)
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Working knowledge of continuous improvement including TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma strongly preferred
Professional maturity, appearance, and demeanor
Proficiency in areas of general business administration: organizational design and communications, economics, finance, etc.
Team leadership and team membership skills
Creative, reliable, organized, adaptable, flexible, innovative, and a self starter
Focus on adding value to a fast and performance driven business
Strong project management skills a plus
Ability to travel up to 25% to Supply Chain locations across the US and Mexico
