Job Responsibilities:

Trade Strategy

  • Executes priorities set by Segment Leadership inservice to the corporate strategy

  • Provide input to strategically allocate customerfunding (using segmentation modeling on growth)

  • Tracks success metrics

Line Review/Catalog Review/Seasonal Review

  • Support the annual trade management planningprocess relative to area of responsibility.

  • Aligns planning process with Newell Rubbermaidand customer planning calendars

  • Understands brand and customer priorities anduses the planning process to drive strategic alignment

  • Aid in the recommendation of sku assortmentpriorities, financial guidelines and synergies across customers and brandswithin area of responsibility.

  • Leveragesgrowth driving capabilities including category management, in-store visibilityand shopper marketing to deliver comprehensive category growth plans forcustomers

  • Recommends assortment mix to maximize sales andprofitability

  • Compiles and analyzes market, shopper / end-user,and channel knowledge gaps

  • Compiles profiles of competitors and channelcustomers using primary and secondary research and data

  • Gathers competitive and marketplace intelligenceand share with the organization

  • Collects and summarizes business risks andopportunities.

  • Execute within timelines and deliverables for thesegment

Pricing and Trade Fund Guidance

  • Collects and analyzes account pricing anddistribution for NWL and competitive brands

  • Understands retailer margin and pricingexpectations

  • Collects and analyzes channel / regionalpromotional pricing and pricing activity in line with programming requirementsand cost-to-serve, to ensure they are within Segment and Brand pricingguardrails

  • Analyzes and track potential impact of pricingexceptions on channel / region

  • Aid in the analysis of theeffectiveness of trade spend within area of responsibility

Vertical Market Strategy

  • Provide input on the strategic vertical marketsto penetrate for growth opportunities

  • Recommend any new product innovation needed toachieve results

Literature/Sampling

  • Execute literature and sampling strategy.

  • Create generic literature that can be extended tocustomer specific

  • Commercial field literature

  • Product flyers

  • Promotional flyers

  • Recommend customer specific rollouts and focusproducts for sampling efforts

New Product Launches

  • Serve as Trade Marketing voice on the developmentof launch strategy

  • Serve as customer voice in product developmentmeetings

  • Works with CD Team to complete forecast tools

  • Participate in the development of new item launchand training materials

  • Create category selling solutions for ourcustomers

Distribution Expansion

  • Responsible for new customers/channels withinarea of responsibility

  • Aid in the development of cross merchandisingprograms

  • Recommend any new product innovation needs topenetrate new channels/customers

Category Strategy

  • Provides customer perspective into categorystrategy development in conjunction with Category Strategy team

  • Integrates Category Strategy stories in linereview and related customer presentations

S&OP

  • Provide input for the monthly Integration meetingduring the S&OP process to help to ensure forecast accuracy

  • Provide input into Long Term CapacityPlanning

  • Work closely with the brand teams to managethrough SKU rationalization and disposition on E&O

Talent Management

  • Collaborates with Trade Management peers acrossthe company to share and apply best practices

  • Actively manages professional development

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • University or four-year college

  • MBA preferred

  • Skilled in channel management, brand managementand sales

  • 4+ year’s experience with a CPG, B2B or durablecompany in trade management, channel management, brand management, insights andsales.
