Position Title: Packaging Engineer - Beauty Division

Location: Atlanta, GA

Reports to: Sr. Manager, R&D and PMO

Job Summary:

This Packaging Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop consumer driven packaging designs for major new product launches. The Packaging Engineer will analyze market and consumer trends and apply fundamentals of packaging engineering – materials, processing and structural development software. The Packaging Engineer will also manage packaging engineering deliverables against project timelines.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

Business Acumen

  • Understands projectP&L and key drivers that affect overall project financial health ensuringprojects meet established objectives (e.g. margins, costs, revenue).

  • Understands whatproject success is and drives path forward to achieve success in most timelyand cost effective manner.

  • Executesimmediate technical strategy through new product initiatives.

  • Applies technicalknowledge and understanding to day-to-day decision making.


  • Provides routineengineering, working autonomously on project teams with little to no guidancefrom more senior engineers.

  • Demonstratesintermediate level of understanding of manufacturing processes and technologiesused to produce a product.

  • Designs andconducts tests for product performance.


  • Compiles testdata to provide strategic direction for solving problems.

  • Partnerswith Engineering team and Graphic Designer to develop potential new packagesolutions.


  • Participates oncross-functional teams to work seamlessly across boundaries of company,culture, and geography for successful project execution.

  • Participates inconsensus on new product development (NPD), productivity and productmaintenance.

  • Incorporatesconsumer and market insights as a driver of innovation and project execution.


  • Preparesproject status and risks to manager with proper level of detail and recoverplans.

  • Challengesand provides constructive mitigation strategies.

  • Supportscadence and techniques to run efficient meetings.

  • Participates inforums for ideation and technical sharing.


  • Bachelor’s degree in PackagingEngineering or a closely related Engineering field with retail packagingdevelopment experience.

  • At least two years of developmentexperience in packaging engineering for consumer products.

  • Effective communication (verbal andwritten) and presentation skills.

  • Proven knowledge of consumerproducts packaging technology, methods, and conversion processes.

  • Previous experience with globalpackaging suppliers, processes and regional packaging materials.

  • Proficiency with ArtiosCAD and otherpackaging specific software is desired.
