Position Title : Inventory Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

Reports To: Sr Manager, Excess & Obsolete (E&O) Inventory

Newell Brands launched the Accelerated Transformation Plan to transform to a simpler, stronger and faster global consumer goods company, with portfolio best positioned to leverage its advantaged capabilities in product design, innovation and e-commerce. To support the Plan and its focus on Supply Chain transformation, the Newell Integrated Supply Chain Optimization (NISCO) team is currently being created. This team operates as central support across all Newell Divisions. This team drives the Supply Chain Optimization by identifying and deploying best practices and executing projects in close collaboration with Division Supply Chain teams.

By joining this new team, the Inventory Manager will be responsible for designing and executing inventory reduction programs across our 7 consumer-facing divisions. The manager will work closely with the Sr. Manager, E&O Inventory to develop best practices to drive inventory reductions. The manager will roll out programs through partnerships with various divisions functional leaders (Supply Chain, Finance, Brand / Trade.)

Responsibilities:

• Further enhance E&O (excess & obsolescent inventory) playbook to aid division in reduction of E&O; research & understand industry best practices & new ways for Newell to reduce inventory

• Lead the execution of transformation projects in conjunction with Division supply chain teams

• Partner with division leadership in many functions (including finance, trade, supply, demand, and sales) to systematically implement best practices as they are developed by NISCO

• Provide training and support to cross-functional division resources that will allow them to fully utilize the playbook

• Manage cross-functional project team members to ensure delivery of project milestones while achieving expected productivity objectives

• Provide project status updates to Senior Leadership including action plans to maintain project objectives; build and deliver information / results to multiple levels of the organization

• Serve as subject matter expert in understanding E&O inventory

• Execute project deliverables in alignment with project plan expectation

The successful candidate will be an established practitioner with a proven track record delivering results within the End-to End Supply Chain. The successful candidate must be technically competent within a supply chain vertical. Finally, being hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution while working on projects of strategic importance.

Key Qualifications:

• BS/BA or University degree

• 4 – 7 years of relevant job experience with deep exposure to supply chain, Consumer Products industry & / or ecommerce experience a plus

• 3+ years’ experience leading & / or executing projects in supply chain or finance functions

• 3+ years’ experience managing complex projects or programs, including managing team members (with or without formal authority)

• Hands-on experience driving change: looking for a leader comfortable with doing the work required to analyze and identify both problems and solutions (not just direct others in analyses)

• Demonstrated track record of effectively building partnerships and managing and resolving challenges

• Ability to work with and connect with all levels of employees

• Demonstrated problem solving skills; strong planning & organizing skills

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

• Is comfortable with uncertainty / changes to the plan; display flexibility required to adjust to shifts in broader program priorities or external landscape dynamics

• Ability to professionally challenge current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways/approaches

• Ability & confidence to lead and influence multiple levels of supply chain teams without having formal authority

• Intermediate level skills developing analysis in Excel and/or MS Access; intermediate level skills developing presentations in MS Powerpoint

• Experience in SAP and SAP Business Objects, SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and PowerBI (or other data visualization tools)

• Strong character, ability to champion the right decision in difficult situations

• Ability to travel up to 15% to Division locations across the US
