Job Title: Indirect Sourcing Manager - IT

Location: Atlanta, GA

Reports to: Senior Manager, Sourcing

The Global Sourcing Manager will work with Functional and Business leaders to set the Sourcing strategy and lead procurement efforts across the Global Information Technology (software, hardware, telecom, services, etc.) category, ensuring compliance with corporate strategy. In addition to identifying and pursuing savings opportunities, the position will lead the proper behavior of our organizational purchasing as it pertains to critical measurements such as: Preferred Supplier participation, rationalization of suppliers, supplier improvement, and day-to-day on-going activities supporting all facilities.

General Responsibilities:

This role has broad responsibility for managing and improving the Organizational Effectiveness of the Indirect Sourcing function, with particular emphasis placed on improving the quality and consistency of communications with internal stakeholders.

Organizational Effectiveness

• Develop and implement Global Information Technology (IT) Sourcing strategy working with various IT Leaders and Newell Brands’ internal Legal team. (Note: Category assignments are subject to change based on the needs of the workgroup.) 

• Determine negotiation strategy for agreements involving software, hardware, telecom, and related services

• Identify reliable sources of supply with primary regard for ability to meet specifications requirements, delivery needs, and price competitiveness

• Meet annual productivity goals related to Global Sourcing Strategy

• Support stakeholders on day-to-day operational needs

• Understand and drive purchasing measures including: productivity, payment terms targets, etc.

Stakeholder Communications

• Negotiate with vendors for best total cost

• Create and maintain productivity tracking 

• Utilize Sourcing Process to drive cost savings

• Utilize RFx and eAuction tools as needed and where possible to drive competitive bids and cost savings

• Complete new supplier assessments

• Consolidate new project bid packages

• Project management

• Prioritize timelines and needs of multiple projects at the same time

• Manage needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders in multiple roles across the organization

• Drive timelines to completion on committed project dates


• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field

• Previous IT Sourcing experience is strongly preferred but not required

• Knowledge of and experience with complex IT systems and projects is a plus

• Candidates with a Category Management in other functional areas may also be considered

• Candidates with equivalent supply chain/operations experience may also be considered
