Position Title: Demand Planning Manager - Writing
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Director, Supply Chain
This Demand Planning Manager facilitates the business process for the Demand Review and coordinates data in support of the other IBP meetings. He/she will focus on:
Managing the monthly task plan todeliver a successful Demand Review Meeting
Developing a demand-based revenueplan for comparison against annual business plans and financial forecastupdates
Ensuring all customer demand andassumptions are accurately reflected in the IBP planning system to support the IBPprocess and monitoring process conformance, problem solving and businessprocess improvement
Conducting what-if analyses to createalternate scenarios for reconciling Demand, Supply, and Financial plans and explainingthe risks and upside associated with the different scenarios
Driving continuous improvements throughoutthe Demand Review/IBP process to efficiently deliver Demand content and improveforecast accuracy
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Keep the IBP - Demand process ontrack, ensuring continuous engagement and execution by all stakeholdersincluding:
o Prepare for all Demand meetings throughout the monthly process
o Support the Process Leader and Process Owner to facilitate the process and meetings
o Document the decisions and meeting output and ensure that decisions from the meetings are being executed
o Report metrics to identify progress and work with Planners to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain the calendar for all IBP –Demand meetings.
Maintain documentation of the processand train all participants of their responsibilities in the process, includingSales, Marketing and Demand Planning team members.
Optimize the technologicalenvironment supporting the IBP - Demand process. Partner with IT and Demand Planning to trainand maintain system integrity.
Maintain the metrics database andwork with Planners to problem solve the highest causes of error by researchingerror, determining root cause and driving for improvement.
Serve as the subject matter expertfor the Demand Planning team influencing business decisions and practices thatdeliver optimal business results across IBP process.
Operate as a strategic thoughtleader/change agent working collaboratively with the IBP process owner and theDemand Review process owner to support business objectives.
College degree in Supply Chain Management,Engineering, Business Management or related technical field.
Minimum 5+ years experience which includes:
Minimum of two years ofproject management experience that includes leading cross-functionalteams and supply chain continuous improvement initiatives
Advanced knowledge ofstatistical modeling and demand systems (e.g. SAP APO, JDA, Logility,etc.)
Experience operating withina “Class A” IBP system.
Experience across multipleaspects of the supply chain with previous roles in inventory management,manufacturing planning and/or forecasting.
Expertise in dataacquisition, spreadsheet/database development and analysis.
Experience utilizing Leanprinciples and tools (Flow, Pull, Kanban, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping,etc.).
Process large amounts ofdata and deliver a concise recommendation.
Influence others and drivecross-functional alignment.
Communicate at variousorganizational levels and back-up thoughts with facts.
Build strong, collaborativerelationships with internal and external business partners.
Work effectively in aconstantly changing, fast paced team environment.
Manage your own scheduleand exhibit flexibility to support multiple projects while meeting alldeadlines.
Proficiency with Excel, Access, PowerPoint andother MS Office applications, and supply chain planning and optimizationtools.
Strong communication (written, verbal andpresentation) and organizational skills.
Strong results orientation and work ethic;able to work independently.
Occasional travel requiredto Company, customer and/or partner locations in support of supply chaininitiatives.
